Silicone Tube and Bite Valve

$15.00

One Bottle Hydration is pleased to be the first hydration system to offer a silicone tube option! Many of my users have asked about the materials I use, so this winter I searched around to find a silicone tube that worked the same way as my standard food-grade TPU tubing! When used with a stainless-steel or other non-plastic container, you can nearly eliminate plastic from touching your water!

Why should you care? Well, I'm not a doctor and despite the best efforts of my parents, I'm not married to one... but over the past decade or so we're learning more and more about the health effects of the plastics that are everywhere in our food supply chain. We all got whipsawed a few years ago when BPA in polycarbs became the bad guy... and then the manufacturers replaced it with BPS which turned out to have even worse endocrine effects!

All of these health effects come from chemical reactions between plastic and the human body. Silicone and stainless steel are materials that inherently more inert and less reactive than plastic!

This is why I am so enthusiastic about the stainless-steel Thermoflasks at Costco! When combined with a silicone tube you can get the convenience of a Camelbak with almost no plastic!
